Rockville High School's French 3 classes took a trip to the Hillstead Museum of Farmington on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. Students were taken on a guided educational tour of the art in the museum which was provided by a French guide completely in French! They learned about several artists of the impressionist period and saw original works by Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, and Edgar Degas. Then, they sat in the sunken garden and tried their hand at creating a pastel masterpiece, making art en plein air. The group finished with a picnic lunch on the ground's kitchen gardens and indulged in a variety of croissants from a local French bakery.
