The State Department of Education Roundtable on the 2024-2025 Results of Connecticut's "Next Generation Accountability System and Dual Credit Pathways" was held at the State Capitol on Thursday, October 10th. Dr. Macary and Rockville High School Senior Grace Johnson represented Vernon Public Schools and were joined by two other districts, East Haven and Milford, as well as the Commissioner of Education and State Legislators for the round-table discussion. The Rockville High School Marching RAM Band compete at the USBands Group 3A State Championship this Saturday, Nov. 1, at New Britain Stadium.
Come cheer the band on as it seeks a state championship!
The band will perform its 2024 competition program, “24601,” a tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Broadway musical Les Misérables, at 3 p.m.
Over the past three years, the Marching RAM Band has experienced remarkable growth—expanding from 21 members in 2022 to more than 65 members this season. Band Director Raymond Sinclair credits this success to the strong support of Vernon Public Schools, the dedication of the marching band staff, the Band Boosters and the passion and work ethic of the band and color guard members.
This season, the RHS Marching Band has shown consistent improvement, increasing its score by 4–6 points each week, positioning the ensemble as a strong contender for the State Championship title.

🎃 The playground turned into a pumpkin patch paradise this crisp fall morning! 🍂 Kindergarteners had a blast dancing, playing games, and picking the perfect pumpkin to take home. Each student had a photo shoot at the Fall Pumpkin display! Kindergarten Parents, stay tuned for your special surprise! 🌳🍂 The “big lollipop tree” on our recess playground has been teaching us something special this fall. Week by week, students have watched its colors shift from bright green to blazing yellow orange. Farm to School Month is still going strong! Today, all schools enjoyed local Delicata squash from Himmelstein Homestead Farm in Lebanon with lunch, and next week we’re celebrating Halloween with a special breakfast feature: pumpkin chocolate chip bars made with puree from their sugar pumpkins.
