Dear Maple Street School families,

During this time, we recognize that some families and members of our community may be experiencing financial difficulty due to changes in SNAP benefits or the ongoing government shutdown. Maple Street School offers FREE breakfast and lunch to all enrolled K-5 students as part of the school day. These school meal benefits will continue without interruption. Breakfast can be picked up in the mornings right in the cafeteria after getting off the bus. Tomorrow at breakfast, students will have the opportunity to sample chocolate chip pumpkin bars made with local sugar pumpkin puree! Menus and more information about our program can be found on our website.

There are several resources in the Town of Vernon where families can access free food. Please see the linked flyer.

The Food & Nutrition Services Department is committed to providing fresh, healthy, kid-friendly meals to all students. If you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, please reach out to us by emailing sfultz@vernon-ct.gov or calling 860-896-4682.
