Please join us in congratulating Jen Roggi, who has been selected as the 2024-2025 Vernon Public Schools Teacher of the Year!
Ms. Roggi approaches her work with a growth mindset and is always seeking ways to refine her practice for the benefit of her students. Not only is she a tremendous teacher in her classroom, she has truly flourished in her role as our math facilitator. Under Ms. Roggi's leadership, the department has grown and evolved in a relatively short period of time. This recognition speaks to her dedication, talents, and the passion she has for helping all students grow in math.
Congratulations to Ms. Roggi in this well-deserved honor!

Here are the upcoming events. Tickets for the 8th grade dance will go on sale on Tuesday, 5/27. Tickets cost $10, or $7 with 3 Eagle Bucks. Tickets will be sold during Eagle Time and during lunch. Congratulations Sarah and Lucas - you lead by example everyday. We are so incredibly proud of you both!

VCMS's Bermuda Workshop is in full swing this week. Each year, we send twenty 8th graders to the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences (BIOS) for a week to be immersed in ocean science and research, and learn all about the island history and culture.
Our team left bright and early Sunday morning (thank you moms for getting up so early on Mother's Day!) and then flew out of Boston to Bermuda. Once there, they settled in and immediately went on a hike and did their first snorkeling at Whalebone Bay.
Other adventures include a tour of Walsingham Nature Preserve and a trip to Nonsuch Island!
These 20 students applied, wrote essays, and interviewed as part of the application process, then spent months learning about the history, floral, and fauna of the island and surrounding waters. We are lucky to be one of the few middle school programs invited to BIOS, and we are proud to have continued this tradition for over 50 years!
