EPOCH Art and Photography took part in a field trip to Eastern Connecticut State University. They viewed an art exhibition featuring work created by individuals recently and currently incarcerated in Connecticut jails. This show provided students with unique perspectives that tackle themes of freedom, family, overcoming difficult circumstances, social justice and more. The visit also included a tour of the art department where students were able to see into the creative spaces of ECSU and learn about what it is like to be an art student in college.

All smiles this morning at the VCMS Attendance Breakfast, celebrating perfect or improved attendance! 100+ students invited to celebrate this great achievement!

❄️ 7th graders wishing everyone a happy Winter Break! ❄️

❄️⛄️ What started as a simple "Bonhomme de Neige" activity quickly turned into something special. Students were challenged to transform a snowman picture in their own unique way in Madame Soden's 6th grade French class, and they absolutely delivered. From creative details to bold ideas, each snowman reflected imagination, personality, and pride in their work.
Staff were invited to walk through and vote for their favorites using sticky notes on their favorite designs. Those votes will turn into Eagle Bucks and prizes after Winter Break, but more importantly, they showed students that their creativity matters and is seen.
A joyful reminder of how small moments can build excitement, confidence, and community. 💙❄️

8th graders with all of their great finds at this year's "VCMS Holiday Share!" Students grades 6-8 each took turns bringing their hard-earned Eagle Bucks to shop for presents for their loved ones. Thank you to everyone who donated to this year's event, with your support it was an incredible experience for all of our students!

Sixth graders recently culminated their study of economics in Europe by participating in an Economics Mixer. Students each took the role of a European country and analyzed the country's data related to economic health and imports and exports. They then interviewed multiple other European countries before making a final decision as to which country would be the best trade partner.
