Sixth graders recently culminated their study of economics in Europe by participating in an Economics Mixer. Students each took the role of a European country and analyzed the country's data related to economic health and imports and exports. They then interviewed multiple other European countries before making a final decision as to which country would be the best trade partner.

Thank you to our staff, students, @vcmspto, and @suburbansubaru for donating to our PJ Day for the Kids fundraiser. As of Friday afternoon, we are at approximately $1750, leaving us $250 from our goal and $750 from our stretch goal!
This was done by hard work of our student council and staff, and donations from so many, showing our students that small change (literally and figuratively) can make big changes! We are so proud of them!
Want to help us reach our goal, or did you miss donating? We are still collecting! Online - copy this link here:

7th grade Science students hard at work creating their cell analogy projects after learning about all of the parts of the cell in Ms. Hurwitz' "Cell City!" A cell airport, stadium, school, Starbucks, Roblox game, factory, Dunkin, Chick Fil A, bee hive, computer, garden and carnival, are all under construction to just name a few. Students are explaining the function of each part of the cell through the comparison they're making in their own designed cell worlds!

EPOCH Art raised more than $500 for the Cornerstone Foundation Wednesday night at their Soupfest fundraiser! VCMS is so proud of these amazing art students!

EPOCH Art students have created over 50 bowls to be sold at this amazing event this Wednesday, November 12th from 6pm-8:30pm. All proceeds from the sale of the bowls will go directly to Cornerstone Community Kitchen! Please contact Ms. Sherri Nevins at VCMS with any questions.

🎨 EPOCH Art 🎨 is a community outreach art class that helps to integrate the arts across disciplines, offers an arts-rich environment that motivates students to make connections between and among subject areas and ideas, stimulates student learning, improves the culture and climate of our school, and inspires the artistic development of our student artists. This year our EPOCH Artists have been busy creating ceramic bowls for Soup Fest for Cornerstone. These bowls will be sold at Soup Fest on November 12th to help raise money for Cornerstone's programs. EPOCH Artists have also been to the New Britain Museum of American art to study and create STEAM artworks as well as creating Artist Trading Cards to trade with artists at Bennet Academy in Manchester. Soon we will be deciding on other community service art projects that we will work on this year. Keep your eyes and ears open for what they come up with!
📸 Photo & Film: 📸 In middle school photography class, students explore the art and technique of capturing great images. They learn basic photography concepts such as composition, lighting, and camera settings, while developing creative and technical skills. Students build digital portfolios to showcase their work and gain real-world experience by photographing school events, hosting photo booths, and contributing to the school yearbook. The class encourages creativity, teamwork, and a deeper appreciation for visual storytelling.
