The Teacher of the Year Committee is pleased to announce that Kelly Stein has been named the Vernon Public Schools 2025–2026 Teacher of the Year!
Kelly is a patient, flexible, innovative, and empathetic teacher whose passion for music is evident in everything she does. She believes that music is for everyone and has developed resources to support her diverse group of students across all five elementary schools. Kelly has an exceptional ability to motivate and inspire students to do their best, even when faced with challenges. She is constantly learning, creating new ways to engage students, and designing lessons that are both challenging and supportive so all students can reach their full potential.
In addition, Kelly works tirelessly to ensure the band program is accessible to all students by maintaining the school’s inventory of instruments so financial circumstances never become a barrier to participation. Her dedication, positivity, and commitment to equity make her an outstanding educator and an excellent representative of our district.
Please join us in congratulating Kelly on this well-deserved honor!

We want to give a huge shout out to Mrs. Vanty in our ECHN Family Resource Center at Maple Street! She does so much for our students and our school! She's secured funds for field trips, food, and events for our students and their families. This week our students were treated to a puppet show about bullying. The show was put on by Up In Arms, a puppet theater group out of NY.

This morning the RHS Wrestling Team came to encourage our students to do their best! Thank you to the team and their coach Mr. Gardiner!

A huge congratulations to all of our 4th and 5th grade chorus members for their amazing all town concert last Wednesday! Under the direction of Mrs. Perrett-Manly, Ms. Smallidge, Mrs. March, Mrs. Preyer, and Mr. Dunia all 5 elementary school choruses came together for the concert! Almost 300 hundred students sang beautifully together to show that music connects us all. Our students sounded wonderful and it was a testament to all of their (and their music teachers') hard work!
