Technology Education

From Mrs. Strong's class, 3D printed mug from our 8th grade CAD/Video course... this is in time-lapse mode! Each student ends the solidworks portion of our class by designing their own mug and printing it out on our two MakerBot 3D printers.

Mrs. Strong and Mr. Sylvestre worked with students to create and compete CO2 cars!

Technology Engineering Education focuses on the processes and knowledge that people use to extend human abilities and to satisfy human needs and wants.

Classes with Mrs. Strong- 

8th grade CAD- It is a comprehensive hands-on action-based education program, involving technical means and its evolution, utilization, and significance. A variety of instructional techniques including demonstrations, labs, computer applications and project work are utilized to challenge students.  Technological literacy is emphasized throughout the course. Utilization of a CAD software and 3D printers.  For the 2020-2021 school year we will be focusing on TinkerCAD or SolidWorks.

7th grade Technology Education - Introduces students to the basics of construction, manufacturing, transportation, and environmental technology clusters. It is a comprehensive hands-on action-based education program reinforcing the areas of math, science, and language arts through practical application and / or hands- on activities while promoting critical thinking, decision making and problem solving.

6th grade Engineering Tech - Provides students with an introduction to the principles of Engineering & Technology. This course will also help students to use technological systems effectively in their lives, thus providing a foundation for successfully integrating their own interests with potential careers with the resources of a technological society. Engineering Tech introduces concepts and has the student work through an engineering design process. Engineering Tech reinforces the areas of math, science, social studies, and language arts through practical application and / or hands- on activities while promoting critical thinking, decision making and problem solving.​

Classes with Mr. Sylvestre- 

8th grade Manufacturing - It is a comprehensive hands-on action-based education program. A variety of instructional techniques including demonstrations, labs, computer applications and project work are utilized to challenge students.  Technological literacy is emphasized throughout the course. Utilization of a Master Cam software and CNC Router. 

7th grade Technology Education - Introduces students to the basics of manufacturing, transportation, and environmental technology clusters. It is a comprehensive hands-on, action-based education program reinforcing the areas of math, science, and language arts through practical application and/or hands- on activities while promoting critical thinking, decision making and problem solving.

6th grade Woods Class - Provides students with an introduction to the principles of woodworking. This course will also help students to use woodworking equipment effectively in their lives, thus providing a foundation for successfully integrating their own interests with potential careers with the resources of a working society.
