Hello NES Families!
 
     Last week, NES students, teachers and staff all had a great start to the 2024-2025 school year.  This week, the NES PTO will get to work planning the year's activities at the September meeting.  The first PTO meeting of the year will be held this Thursday, Sept. 5 at 6 p.m. in the NES Library.  Free childcare will be provided in the NES gym.  All NES families are cordially invited to attend!.

 NES PTO Meeting Set for Thurs. Sept. 5
 
      All NES families are encouraged to attend the NES PTO meeting next Thursday.  Families may join the meeting in the NES library, or attend virtually.   Click HERE to attend the meeting via Google Meet.  (You will just have to "Knock" to be let into the meeting, much like a zoom waiting room).
 
      PTO meetings offer families a chance to give suggestions, hear updates from NES Principal Dr. Brenda Greene, connect with other families and learn about what's coming up in the school year.

NES PTO Redecorates and Stocks the Staff Room to Kick of 2024-2025 School Year
 
       Prior to the start of the school year, NES PTO adult and student volunteers provided a much-needed upgrade to the Staff Room.  A new table and microwave stand really opened up the room and will make it easier for staff and teachers to comfortably gather.  And a beautiful mountainscape mural, created by NES PTO President, Amanda Ruttenberg with help from students.  Additionally, snack and beverage donations from NES families guaranteed that teachers and staff started out the school year with a fully stocked staff room!  What a great way to support the people who help NES students learn and grow!  Thank you to everyone who donated items and helped redecorate the staff room!  
 
 NES PTO Scoops Fun with Ice Cream Social
 
      The NES PTO Ice Cream Social has been tentatively scheduled for Friday, Sept. 27 from 6 - 7:30 p.m. outside in the NES back lot - and will be run Ice Cream Truck style with different individually-wrapped options to choose from.  Come enjoy yummy ice cream treats and have some fun with your NES friends!  Ice Cream treats will be offered for a requested donation of $1.00.  Click HERE to RSVP (and even request a special treat!).
 
  Scholastic Book Fair Thurs. & Fri. Sept. 26 & 27
      At the end of the month, the NES PTO is hosting our first Book Fair of the year.  Stop by to pick up a book or two and you'll be supporting your child's learning and Northeast School!  Volunteers are needed to set up the Book Fair on Friday Sept 20, staff the Fair on Thursday Sept 26 and Friday Sept 27 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., Friday Sept 27 from 6 - 8 p.m (during the ice cream social- two slots available so you don't miss out on the fun!), and to break down the Book Fair from 8 - 8:45 (following the Ice Cream Social).  Please consider signing up to help out so that we can hold this important fundraiser!  Click HERE to sign up, or learn more.
