Hello NES Families!
Lots of excitement and great ideas came out of the October 3 PTO meeting. We've got a FREE family movie night this Friday, the popular Butterbraid and cake roll fundraiser has kicked off and we've got four new family members who have volunteered to serve as Vice Presidents. Welcome to co-chairs Nichole Burnham and Stephanie Hayden, Vice Presidents of Events, and co-chairs Amanda Armstrong. and Shayleen Méndez, Vice Presidents of Fundraising!
In addition to this week's Movie Night, we've got Penny Wars, the Harvest Dance and Black and Orange Day coming up later this month. For more details, visit https://northeastschoolpto.weebly.com/for a Google calendar, pictures from PTO events and all kinds of helpful links and information.
Free Family Movie Night Tomorrow Friday, Oct. 18!
The NES PTO will host a free movie night tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 18. Come enjoy a screening of Inside Out 2with your family and NES friends. Indulge in free popcorn or $1 baked goods. Bring blankets and pillows, or enjoy luxury seating in NES aluminum chairs. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. The movie will begin at 6 p.m. Please consider donating individually wrapped snacks or baked goods for the bake sale table. Anyone interested in helping with set up, clean-up or working the bake sale table can contact Tina Glidden at peeptoadroad@gmail.com.
A flyer was sent home in last Thursday's folder. While RSVPs aren't required they are greatly appreciated.
PTO Rolls Out Butter Braid and Cake Roll Fundraiser
The popular Butter Braid Fundraiser (with an added sweet bonus - cake rolls!) is in full swing! The deadline for orders is Monday, Oct. 21. Orders will be ready for pick up on Monday, Nov. 11- in plenty of time for Thanksgiving! Order forms went home in last week's Thursday folders. Click here to register and sell online.
Penny War Runs Next Week Oct. 22-25 - Which Grade Will Win?
The Penny War runs from Tuesday, Oct. 22 - Friday, Oct. 25. Grades Pre K - 5 will have their own collection jars. Students GAIN points by adding pennies, nickels and quarters to their grade's jar, and LOWER points by adding dollar bills to other jars. Quarters are worth double on Thursday, 10/24! The grade with the most points on Friday wins a PJ and Dance Party. Money earned from this fun-draiser will be used toward the NES PTO Harvest Dance (Friday, Nov. 1) and other fun events.
Harvest Dance Coming Soon!
On Friday, Nov. 1, NES will be transformed into a Harvest Wonderland! Imagine festive music, a harvest photo booth, games, snacks, escape rooms, a cookie decorating contest, and an extra opportunity to wear costumes (no violent or scary ones, please). In order to maximize the fun, volunteers and imagineers are needed to help plan, create and staff this special night. Donations of decorations, individually wrapped snacks and bottled beverages/juice boxes will be a help, too. Volunteer sign ups to set up, staff a table, or keep an eye on things in the gym, and to donate treats for the Harvest Dance will begin next week.
