Children in Ghana carry 7 to 10 gallon jugs of water on their heads each day to bring clean water to their homes. This equates to about 45 to 55 pounds per trip.

We made terrariums to learn about water filtration and plants that would grow best in particular conditions.

Students in Ghana created their terrariums. PIIP students are now taking what they learned (building terrariums) from their USA mentors, teachers and team members at Vernon and Wolcott Public schools to teach their teachers, farmers and other students in their village.
From Mohammed Sani:
The name of the school is Owusu Asare Model Junior High School.
The class teacher is to supervise the growth of the Terrarium and also help explain key words such as Precipitation, Condensation, Transportation, Transpiration and Evaporation in his next science class with the class students. The head of the school is keeping the Terrarium in his office for safety purposes and bringing in the class for continuous learning.
I also challenged the class to practice building terrarium at home with their friends and family members who are farmers. Also, we ended the class by asking them to research about one thing the plant needs to grow that is not in the Terrarium of which the science master will be helping out with their research results.
We summarized by asking the students to learn to help one another in terms of knowledge sharing of which our PIIP students have come to pay their dues to what we are preaching.
