When Do I Keep My Child Home?
The district has established a list of signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and temperature thresholds that require students and staff to stay home. The school nurse and/or building administrators will instruct students and staff to inform the school nurse if they are sick with COVID-19 related symptoms, or they have had known contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 and have also had contact with the members of the school’s population. Each school nurse will communicate with both the district nursing supervisor and the school’s principal regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19. Staff or students that are sick with COVID-19 related symptoms or if they have had close contact (less than 6 feet apart, for 15 or more minutes) with someone known or suspected to have COVID 19 while at school should be evaluated by the Health Room staff.
