Third Grade

Third Grade is a great place to be! We use the Workshop model for Reading and Math. Our favorite unit in Reading is the Biography unit. We read and research about a famous person of our choice. We then present a “Wax Museum” where we dress up as the person and share what we’ve learned. We spend the year exploring poetry and writing personal narratives, informational, and persuasive pieces. In Math, we love learning more about multiplication and division. Learning our Math facts is also an important part of our learning and help make problem solving easier. Students will use Discovery Education to deepen their understanding of the science standards and will learn more about our state and local history.
