Kathy retired from the Vernon Police Dept. in July 2015 after 21 years of service. She spent most of my career in the Patrol Division. One of the most enjoyable positions she held was that of the D.A.R.E. Officer and “Officer Friendly” for Vernon Schools. Those positions allowed me to work with school staff and elementary age students. Students were taught techniques to address critical decision making skills, dangers of alcohol / drug use and abuse, bullying, personal safety.etc. She was then trained as a Crisis / Hostage Negotiator and assisted Vernon Police Officers and neighboring Police Departments in crisis situations.

After retiring Kathy became a Substitute Teacher for the Town of Ellington Schools and then Town of Vernon Schools.

She enjoys fitness, reading and spending time with friends and family and our 2 Golden Retrievers.
