First Grade

~A Message From The First Grade Team~

First grade is such an exciting year! We are continuing to become readers and writers and growing stronger each day! We love showing our parents how far we've come by reading a book we wrote and "published" during our annual Author's Breakfast. In Math, we are developing number sense and applying it to addition and subtraction. In Science, we love learning about space systems, plants and animals, and light and sound. There are so many fun hands-on activities!

Children often start out first grade feeling nervous and a bit frightened. By the end of the year, however, they have become students ready to face the challenges of education. Just watch them grow! We look forward to seeing them grow and especially sharing the fun of learning.
